My Wrestlemania 34 Predictions

The show of shows occurs tonight and what better way to kick-start my blog by predicting the results of tonight’s matches. I will go through each match while giving reasons for my predictions and explaining my thought process. With that in mind, let’s start with the pre-show!

Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal (ARMBAR):

Perhaps the match i’m looking forward to the least, which is a same considering it contains some great competitors with the likes of Elias, Baron Corbin and Dolph Ziggler. I think this is a tough one to call, personally but I can see it going one of two ways. Either Corbin will win making him the first have two ARMBARs on his record. However, I really believe that Elias will end up taking it after the fantastic year that he’s had.

Women’s Battle Royale:

We come into this one with more anticipation, mainly stemming from the Sasha Banks and Bayley storyline, which makes me think that those two will play a key role in the historic women’s battle royale. I’m taking Bayley to win this one, resulting in a full blown Sasha heel turn.

Cedric Alexander vs Mustafa Ali:

205 Live has firmly been on the up in recent weeks thanks to the tournament to crown the new Cruiserweight Champion. Alexander was in line to face Enzo Amore before his dismissal and with that in mind I think he will be rewarded with the championship for being patient.

Daniel Bryan & Shane McMahon vs Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn:

Pretty simple, I mean, it’s Daniel Bryan’s return, he’s not going to lose is he? I imagine we’ll see Owens and Zayn go over to Raw in a post-mania shakeup.

DBKO

Kurt Angle & Ronda Rousey vs Triple H & Stephanie McMahon:

Similar reasoning to the Daniel Bryan prediction, Ronda Rousey isn’t going to lose her debut, it’s really that simple. She’ll most likely rip Steph’s arm off with an arm-bar.

RRWM

The Usos vs The New Day vs Bludgeon Brothers:

The Usos have been absolutely killing it his year and i’m over the moon that they’re getting their match on the main card this year. However, I can’t look past the Bludgeon Brothers for this one. They’ve been built well and all that would have been for nothing if they don’t win here.

Cesaro & Sheamus vs Braun Strowman & Mystery Partner

Let me preface this by stating I have absolutely no idea who Braun’s mystery partner will be – especially after the curve ball revealing that Brain Strowman was actually Braun all along! With that said, I think Braun and his mystery partner are going to take this one. It will keep Braun busy for a while before he’s back in the Universal Title picture.

Asuka vs Charlotte:

Streak vs champion. Asuka has to take this one for me, i’m convinced we’re going to see a still undefeated Asuka against an undefeated Rousey at some point down the line.

Alexa Bliss vs Nia Jax:

This one is tough for me to call. The programme would probably suggest that Nia should end up destroying her bully, so i’m going to go with Nia for that reason. However, a potential Carmella cash in could change this because I can’t see her successfully cashing in on a newly crowned Asuka.

Randy Orton vs Bobby Roode vs Jinder Mahal vs Rusev:

What a coincidence! Wrestlemania just happened to fall on Rusev Day! What are the chances? In all seriousness, I have to pick Rusev for his one, primarily because I really, really want him to win. He deserves it and the crowd will go wild for it.

The Miz vs Finn Balor vs Seth Rollins:

With rumours that The Miz will be leaving short term following the birth of his child, it would make sense for him to drop the IC belt, especially when you consider that his return could be based around his desperate attempts to finally become the longest reigning IC champion. I can see Seth being involved in a feud with a certain someone post mania and with that in mind i’m taking Finn to win the belt and it will be great to see him with some gold around his waist again. One question remains, are we going to see the Demon?

AJ Styles vs Shinsuke Nakamura:

The dream match. Whichever way it goes, I won’t mind. I’m so excited for this match and can only see it stealing the show. I know we’ve already had the match up at Wrestle Kingdom 10 with Nakamura coming out on top, but to have this match for the WWE Championship is mind blowing. I think Shinsuke will come out on top again after a glorious “knee to the face!”.

Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns:

Is this one even worth talking about? I think everyone knows it’s going to be ‘The Big Dog’s‘ crowning, again.

John Cena vs The Undertaker

I’m assuming this is happening given the build up in the last few weeks. I’ve really enjoyed seeing Cena this desperate as it’s been a great new element to his character. With that said, I can’t see Big Match John winning this one as it will completely remove Taker’s mystique following those defeats to Lesnar and Reigns. Plus, I think it will be really cool to see Cena continuously become even more desperate int he following months as he seeks to break the record by becoming a 17 time world champion.
