10 Moves I’d Like to See in the Superstar Shakeup

With Vince McMahon seemingly now opposed to the word ‘draft’, the annual WWE Superstar Shakeup is upon us. It’s fair to say that last time, Smackdown Live got the worst end of the deal, but here are 10 moves that i’d like to see shake up the Raw and Smackdown Live rosters.

Disclaimer: I know more NXT call ups are a possibility here, but they won’t be used for the purposes of this list. Also, i’d like to give an honourable mention to both El Generico and Kevin Steen, because i’d like to them on either brand – especially since they bare a strange resemblance to the recently fired Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens.

10. Sonya Deville to Smackdown Live

With Paige’s official in ring-retirement and recent appoint as Smackdown Live General Manager, it’s reasonable to say that Absolution’s days are likely over. Story wise, it would make sense for Paige to look to bring both of her former Absolution underlings with her to the blue brand. However, I can’t see WWE moving both Sonya and Mandy over, and with Ronda Rousey seemingly occupying the MMA badass role on Raw, I feel that Smackdown Live would be a better home for Sonya.

9. Bobby Roode to Raw

Now, many folks may disagree with me here given that we haven’t saw the glorious one hit the heights of Smackdown Live yet, but, for me, Roode as a face on Smackdown isn’t cutting it. I’m essentially wishing for this change to trigger a heel turn to reinvigorate Bobby’s character because we all know he’s extremely talented but as of now I’m not finding his character to be particularly endearing.

8. The Good Brothers to Smackdown Live

Anderson and Gallows are an extremely talented tag team that are being underutilised on Raw at the moment. It’s no secret that the tag team division on Smackdown Live is currently in a lot better position than Raw’s and The Good Brothers need a change to reinvigorate and build them back up to the standing that a team of their talent should be. Plus, we’ll get to see them reunite with AJ Styles and who doesn’t want to see that?

7. Randy Orton to Raw

I don’t know about anyone else, but i’m finding the Viper to be very stale on Smackdown Live right now. I feel like he needs a change, whether that be in brand, or in feud. I don’t really want to see him against Jinder again, we got that for the WWE Title and I don’t feel like we need it for the US Title. I’d like to see Randy on Raw going about against the likes of Finn Balor and Samoa Joe, matches that I think would be a lot more entertaining.

6. Jeff Hardy to Smackdown Live

With Matt now seemingly working in a tag team with the newly reincarnated Bray Wyatt, Brother Nero may not necessarily be needed for a while. Despite that, I think it would be a cool idea for a split personality Jeff, with Brother Nero appearing on Raw occasionally and Jeff Hardy on Smackdown. I can’t see that happening, unfortunately, so I see the best place for a returning Jeff as being Smackdown live.

5. Jinder Mahal to Raw

Okay, so I know I said I didn’t want another Randy and Jinder feud and now i’m suggesting they both move to Raw but hear me out. I think the Modern Day Maharajah has served his purpose on Smackdown as his time with the WWE Title has definitely improved him. A change in brand could actually motivate Mahal to further improve his level of wrestling, which is currently as good as it ever has been. I don’t know why, but I really want to see Jinder up against Elias, for some reason.

4. The Usos to Raw

Even with the addition of the Authors of Pain, Raw’s tag division still needs work. Hopefully we can see an actual revival of The Revival to further strengthen the division along with AoP. But for an immediate impact, the addition of the Usos, who are arguably the best tag team in the company right now, would add some much needed legitimacy to the division as well as providing them with the opportunity to enter some new feuds.

3. Dean Ambrose to Smackdown Live

Is it cheating to use superstars who are currently out injured? I’m going with no. Last superstar shakeup, I feel as though Ambrose got lost in the shuffle. His feud with The Miz continued as both men changed brands, but that wasn’t what the WWE Universe wanted to see, given that their story seemed to already have reached a conclusion while on Smackdown. Had the Lunatic Fringe not picked up an injury as The Shield were reforming he wouldn’t be on this list, but I just feel that his character, as an individual, works better on the blue brand.

2. Charlotte to Raw

Another superstar that i’d like to see cross back to their previous brand is Charlotte. Having conquered Asuka’s streak and dropped the belt to Ms Money Money in the Bank Carmella, there are questions as to what’s next for the Queen. It’s fair to say a potential WrestleMania 35 main event against Ronda Rousey may be on the cards, so it’s highly possible that Flair will make the move back to Raw. Either that, or she get’s the title back from Carmella and goes on to hold it to next ‘Mania, while Ronda wins the second ever Women’s Royal Rumble because I think it’s inevitable that we see this match.

1. Seth Rollins to Smackdown Live

You guessed it. I’m suggesting that Jinder should move brands with the US belt so the Intercontinental Title should move the opposite way. Monday Night Rollins or Tuesday Night Seth? Honestly, I want this to happen purely for fantasy booking. Think of the possibilities, Styles vs Rollins, Nakamura vs Rollins, Bryan vs Rollins and that’s only touching the surface. Don’t tell me you don’t want to see those feuds, I know you’ll be lying.

There we have it, those are 10 potential moves that i’d like to see in the upcoming Superstar Shakeup. Agree? Disagree? Have any preferred moves yourself? Then please let me know!
