Superstar Shakeup – Monday Night Raw

Last night’s Monday Night Raw oversaw the first stage of this year’s WWE Superstar Shakeup. Mainly announcements of superstars moving from Smackdown Live to Raw with a few ‘free agencies’ and another NXT call up thrown in the mix following the Raw debuts last week of Authors of Pain, Ember Moon and No Way Jose, along with a return from the none other than the prodigal son himself, Bobby Lashley.

From henceforth on Monday night’s we will get to see:

  • Jinder Mahal
  • Kevin Owens
  • Sami Zayn
  • Mojo Rawley
  • Breezango
  • Natalya
  • Dolph Ziggler
  • Drew McIntyre
  • Baron Corbin
  • Zack Ryder
  • Chad Gable
  • Mike Kanellis
  • The Ascension
  • The Riott Squad
  • Bobby Roode

It was also confirmed that former Intercontinental Champion, The Miz, would be moving back to Tuesday nights. Will we get to see the feud with Daniel Bryan? I hope so.

On his Raw debut Jinder Mahal lost his United States Championship to the enigmatic Jeff Hardy. With both the United States and Intercontinental Championships now on Monday Night Raw, this begs the question as to which we’ll see back on Smackdown Live. Will it be Jeff Hardy with the United States Championship? Will it be Seth Rollins with the Intercontinental Title?

Following the addition of Natalya, Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan, Raw’s women’s division is looking pretty stacked. I imagine we’ll see a few make the switch over to Smackdown Live, most likely Mandy Rose and Sony Deville, at the very least, given their Absolution connections with new Smackdown Live GM, Paige.

Raw’s tag division also got some much needed additions following the arrival of Authors of Pain last week. Breezango and The Ascension made the switch over, along with Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens and the potential tag team of Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre giving Raw several new options for some interesting angles with their tag teams.

More additions to Smackdown Live are up next tonight and with them keeping their strong players in AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura and Daniel Bryan, while already adding The Miz, the blue brand is in a strong position to end up with a stacked roster following the Superstar Shakeup.
